What Is Self-Storage?
  • Self-Storage is perfect for many people providing an easy and flexible storage solution to suit their needs. Basically, you only pay for the space you need and the length of time you use it. Our storage facility is secure, modern, clean and dry with storage units ranging from 15  to 130 square feet.

Will by possessions be secure?
  • Oakham Self-Storage facility is protected by the state-of-the-art software and police-monitored security systems. Only you or someone you authorise by giving them the key can access your self-storage unit.
Is it possible to for me to view the self-storage units before I rent?
  • Absolutely. Yes, we recommend it. It is always advisable to view any potential storage facility, whichever one you chose, to ensure that it is right for you.
Are there any hidden charges?
  • No, all you pay for is the weekly storage unit rental. Our contract fully and clearly sets out all of our charges. No additional charges are made for lighting, heating, local authority rates etc.
What is the notice period that I need to give you when I
rent storage
?
  • Just 7 days.
What is the best way to pack my storage unit?

How do I get my items to your storage facility?
  • In your car or van. Or you may wish to hire a van or contact a removal company. We have a trolley available for your use when you arrive.
What are your opening hours?
Our storage facilities are open from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday inclusive, 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is there a charge each time I access my storage unit?
  • No can come and go at your leisure, within normal working hours.
How do I work out the size of storage facilities I need?
  • Simply email us to book an appointment to visit the storage facility and we’ll be happy to advise you.
What paperwork is required?
Just sign our simple Storage Facility agreement and provide us with a copy of your photo identity, such as a passport or driving license. We will also need to take a copy of a recent utility bill with your name and current address. We will need to view the original documents at the time you sign up.
Do you supply cartons and packing materials?
  • No, it is best to arrive with your contents packed.
Do you have a forklift truck?
  • No. But we do have a trolley to assist you at our public storage site.
Can you receive items on my behalf when I rent storage?
  • No, we cannot.
Are there any items I cannot store?
  • You cannot store anything that is perishable, flammable or illegal. Motorcycles and lawnmowers etc. must be drained of fuel and oil prior to storing them.
What are your payment methods?
  • We require a standing order from your bank.
Do you provide car-parking facilities?
  • Yes, our Oakham-based self-storage facility has free parking spaces for your van or car whilst you are loading and unloading.
Are my goods covered?
  • We have public liability insurance. If you require insurance for your goods we can put you in contact with a company specialising in self storage insurance.
  • We are currently processing our application to join the Self storage Association UK, SSA.
Is there a minimum or maximum storage period?
  • You can rent a storage unit for as short or as long period as you require, subject to a one week minimum.
  • If you require long term storage, then we will be happy to discuss a loyalty discount.
